The sad truth in American politics is that once a man or woman is elected to office, they have a new priority that grows in importance during their term of office. Typically, it becomes more crucial than any other issue they may have campaigned for. That new objective is – getting reelected. Fund raising, staffing, polling, scheduling, interviews, et al. are all planned and choreographed to keep themselves in power.
